Social Work Services
How do Social Workers make a difference?
When personal or professional relationships are conflicted, or break down, there is more often than not a negative impact on the interpersonal (between people) or intrapersonal (within the person) system. This is generally because the trust that existed there has been lost, and this will have a negative impact on the person, relationship or situation. Sometimes it can't be remedied, but most times it can.
Whether the disruption happens within a person, a couple, or a system of connected people, Social Workers take the time to examine relationships, looking at all aspects of each person's situation: level of personal power and choice, personal strengths and capacities, any specific areas identified as needing change or further development.
Each issue can then be addressed and a way forward is formulated together, identifying any additional external supports needed along the way. Support systems are available in community, but if a person doesn't know where to find these or how to access them, they often remain in the dark with little hope for change. Our Social Worker will take the time to work with you, to problem-solve and to find solutions that fit your particular situation. They will offer supports and pathways that make sense in relation to your environment, your preferences and your specific abilities.
