- Relationship Counselling
When relationships become conflicted with a lot of unending arguments, it can become loud, like a tug-o-war, with each person trying to maintain their way of doing and being at any cost. It can become competitive, always needing a "winner" and a "loser". The environment can become very 'positional', with raised voices, finger-pointing and blame. It's no longer fun, and the space becomes very tense. Our practitioner Frederica has also trained in mediation and family dispute resolution, and can also provide advice on conflict resolution, parenting plans, and healthy family separation or "healthy uncoupling". All relationships go through struggles, not just intimate partner relationships - it might be parents trying to maintain boundaries in parenting, or children growing up and wanting to become individuals in their own rights. Or it could be in-laws learning how to get along with new members of the family. It might be co-workers with different communication styles learning to work together in a shared professional environment. Or tension in a social group where people need to get along in order to enjoy their shared activities. Whatever type of relationship you are in, time will bring changes and possible challenges - change is the only constant in life. Please get in touch to discuss your particular situation.

- Professional Supervision - Individual
Supervision is, at its core, a process of professional learning and development that allows individuals to reflect on and develop their knowledge and skills, competence, confidence and resilience. Sessions follow mutually agreed rules of engagement and draw on evidence-based theories and models to support personal and professional growth. The individual’s desired goals are explored, and any issues, ethical dilemmas, or concerns naturally arising in professional practice are addressed together in confidence. Supervision is an essential component of ethical and accountable practice, often engaging in topics such as clinical issues, self-care and resilience, managing relationships, career planning, skill development and leadership. Supervision is tax deductible if self-funded. This 60-minute session can be booked for in-person, online or via telephone and can be scheduled weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your supervision requirements.

- Social Work Psychosocial Assessment
Explore problem areas in your life through a gentle discussion with your qualified, non-judgemental and accepting social worker who will assess your situation and provide options towards resolving your particular issues or concerns. The initial 90-minute session is a structured conversation which explores many different aspects of your life, so that your social worker can understand not only your worry or concern, but also any other factors which might be contributing to your overall felt stress. You are invited to speak about anything you choose - your social worker will not judge you, nor invade your privacy - you are in charge of the content of the session. At the end of your first session, the social worker will summarise what they have understood of your concern, and together you will put in place a support plan. Subsequent 60-minute support sessions are available to track and review the progress of your support plan, and to check in with you down the track as well if you wish - please see our rates on the website. Bookings can be made for sessions at our clinic, online or at another mutually-agreed safe and confidential location.

It takes courage to reach out - and we're here to find your way, together. New clients are invited to a 30-minute telephone session to assess suitability for this service. - Child Counselling
Children are always affected by what is going on around them - both internally in themselves and in their outer environment, in the home, care environment, school and community. Their developing brain takes on information at an astronomical rate, like a sponge it takes on data, new thoughts, new experiences, new feelings and sensations. With so much going on, it's natural that sometimes they might have trouble adjusting to events in their world, and they might need support to feel better and continue along their natural inquisitive learning journey. Contact us to set up a child counselling session if you believe your little person could use some extra support. Sessions are offered face to face in clinic or at client's home by prior arrangement. A 30-minute free telephone session is made available with parent/legal guardian to discuss suitability of the service in context of presenting issues/concerns. For young adults aged 7-12 yrs, parent/s are required to be on site at all times that the child is in session. Parent/s can be in room with child if the child requests them to be present.
