Service Description

Growing up is complicated and messy. No-one says it's easy, and everyone goes through it. All you might want to do is to figure yourself out and to fit in. Or you might want to not stand out, or to get 'it' right. It's hard to understand people, and have them understand you, while you try to find a 'you' that fits who you believe you are. You're trying to find your 'tribe' of people, or you've found them but someone disagrees with your choices. It can be really hard to meet the expectations of everyone around you - parents, teachers, friends, peers, siblings. Sometimes it's easy to get lost in all of this. Your body and mind are changing, you're becoming someone else. Counselling can give you the space to figure things out, supported by someone objective who will listen and understand where you're at. You won't be judged, we give you factual information to support you to make informed and appropriate decisions to find your way, together. Sessions are offered face to face or online. A 30-minute free telephone session is available to discuss suitability of the service in context of presenting issues/concerns. If you are a young adult aged 13-15 yrs, a parent or guardian is requested to attend an initial interview with or without you. If you are aged 16-18, you can choose to present on your own or with a support person, for the initial interview and subsequent sessions.
